TAJE welcomes Alicia Merrifield from The Village School in Houston as our new Private School Liaison. Alicia will act as a voice for our advisers from private schools as the board makes decisions as well as working on scholastic journalism resources and opportunities for private school advisers.

Alicia has been teaching 30 years and specializing in journalism the last 11. She has been named a JEA Mentor and a Scripps Howard Foundation Teaching Ambassador. She will also  be finishing her Masters in Journalism Education through Kent State and will graduate fall of 2022.
